Overview For 27 years, the East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy (EBASE) has been at the forefront of economic and racial justice, fostering a Thriving East Bay where all people and families have safe homes, healthy communities, and sustainable work that supports basic needs and ensures dignity. As an anchor organization in the region, EBASE boasts a strong track record of cultivating alliances among community organizations, labor unions, worker centers, faith institutions and government leaders, and developing the leadership and capacity of Black and Brown communities, low-wage workers, and tenants.

Position Summary
In support of its mission, EBASE seeks a collaborative and strategically inclined Campaign Coordinator to help build our network of individual and organizational allies for EBASE’s campaigns for housing justice, racial justice, immigrant rights and worker rights. This includes coordinating aspects of EBASE's coalition-based campaigns, developing and implementing campaign strategies and actions; supporting community outreach and basebuilding activities; and representing EBASE at County-wide coalitions and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The Campaign Coordinator will be a joint employee with East Bay Action, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit and will be assigned work as needed. The Contra Costa Campaign Coordinator, will be led by a Senior Campaign Director.
Responsibilities
The Coordinator position will help develop and implement various campaign strategies that can include but are not limited to the following:
Coalition building and coordination
- Outreach to new and existing organizational partners. Build strong relationships through 1-1 meetings and ongoing engagement.
- Plan and facilitate coalition committee meetings
- Represent EBASE at ally coalitions and identify points of common interest, collaboration, and solidarity support.
Implementation of campaign strategies
- With campaign team, develop tactics, activities and plans that engage partners and their bases and move the campaign forward towards its goals.
- Plan and execute actions and events in support of coalition campaign goals. This includes all aspects from logistics, messaging, turnout, preparing materials, and follow-up.
- Media/social media: Working with comms manager, develop and implement media and social media plans that advance the campaign. Engage Coalition partners to amplify social media.
- Prepare for and conduct lobby visits with elected officials
- Track policy issues that campaign is working on, including attending city council meetings; doing meetings with elected officials, and identifying key policy questions or issues to be addressed.
Organizing to expand the base of support
- Work with Organizing Manager to help do outreach to workers/tenants/immigrants and engage them in organizing, advocacy efforts or mutual aid efforts.
- Develop and conduct presentations about our campaigns and organizing efforts to engage more community members.
- Faith-rooted organizing: work with faith rooted organizer to engage faith leaders in the campaign. Support tactics and activities that bring faith leaders into the campaign such as vigils, faith letter sign-on letters, and public witness.
- Civic engagement: work with civic engagement staff and allies to identify ways to engage voters on the issues of EBASE's campaigns
Organizational Development and Personal Administration
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, internal trainings, strategic and annual planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Support “all hands on deck” requests from EBASE campaign teams, including mobilization support, phonebanking, civic engagement, fundraising, and other activities.
- Maintain personal organization systems (files, calendar, and compliance with documents)
- Complete reimbursements, timesheets and lobbying reports.
Experience and Abilities Needed
- Fluency in written and verbal Spanish is required.
- At least 3 years organizing and campaign experience with labor unions or worker organizations, community groups, or faith-rooted organizations.
- Comfortable, flexible, and interested in organizing a range of constituencies—workers, residents, voters, people of faith, and immigrant communities.
- Experience with and desire to do coalition-based organizing that supports direct basebuilding
- Flexible and collaborative. Highly relational and able to work among teams and coalitions.
- Self-motivated, accountable to goals and eager to learn new techniques, ideas, and skills.
- Excellent personal organization and time management skills.
- Deep commitment to social, economic, and racial justice movements
- Position requires use of an automobile.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $78,000-$82,000 annually (based on experience), with an annual 3% cost-of-living adjustment. EBASE provides a generous and competitive package of benefits valued at approximately $25,000, including:

This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by CWA Local 9415.
